Final Fight Set For Bellator 180 PPV Card
The fifth and final fight is set for the Bellator 180 pay-per-view card as Aaron Pico faces Zach Freeman in a lightweight division attraction.
Pico (0-0-0) will not only be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight, but is going to be making his professional MMA debut as well. Pico did try out for the 2016 United States Olympic freestyle wrestling team, but he came up short during the Olympic trials. Pico is also a Golden Gloves amateur boxing champion and a former FILA cadet 17 & under world & national wrestling champion.
Freeman (8-2-0) will be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and he is a veteran of the Fight Hard MMA promotion. Freeman has previously challenged for the Resurrection Fighting Alliance Lightweight Title, losing to then champion Thiago Moises at RFA 44 in September 2016. Freeman started off his professional MMA career with a seven fight undefeated streak, a streak that had lasted just under two years.
Bellator 180 takes place on Saturday, June 24 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
