Final Fight Added To UFC Fight Night 109
The final fight has been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night 109 card and it takes place in the welterweight division as Omari Akhmedov takes on Abdul Razak Alhassan.
Akhmedov (16-4-0) has won four of seven fights under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Thiago Perpetuo, Brian Ebersole, Mats Nilsson and Kyle Noke. Akhmedov also won a one night Governors Cup Welterweight Tournament in Russia, defeating Aliyor Isakov in the finals. Akhmedov also won the inaugural Pro FC Grand Prix Global 1, defeating Mikhail Istomin in the finals of the one night tournament.
Alhassan (7-0-0) has already competed once under the UFC banner, having defeated Charlie Ward by knockout at UFC Fight Night 99. Alhassan also competed twice in Bellator MMA, defeating the duo of Matt Jones and Bryce Shepherd-Mejia. Alhassan has yet to see one of his professional MMA fights go past the opening round and the longest fight of his career lasted just under 90 seconds.
UFC Fight Night 109 takes place on Saturday, May 28 from the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden with Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
