Fight Rebooked For UFC 209
A heavyweight division clash between Marcin Tybura and Luis Henrique, originally set for February’s UFC 208 card, has been rebooked for this March’s UFC 209 card.
Henrique was originally pulled from the event due to the after effects of an eye surgery as the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) felt Henrique would’ve been in too much danger fighter after the procedure.
Tybura was then set to face late replacement Justin Willis at UFC 208, but Willis was pulled the day of weigh-ins due to being medically unfit to compete, according to the NYSAC.
Henrique (12-0-0) has already earned two victories under the UFC banner, defeating both Jonathan Wilson and Joachim Christensen. Henrique has been a professional MMA fighter for over three years and none of his fights have gone to the judge’s scorecards.
Tybura (14-2-0) has won just one of two fights under the UFC banner, defeating Viktor Pesta and suffering a defeat to Timothy Johnson. Tybura is a former M-1 Challenge Heavyweight Champion, he defeated fellow UFC veteran Damian Grabowski to win the belt in 2014.
UFC 209 takes place on Saturday, March 4 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson headlining.
