Fight Moved From UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo To UFC On Fox 26
A light heavyweight division attraction between #4 Glover Teixeira and #9 Misha Cirkunov, originally scheduled for UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo, has been moved to the UFC On Fox 26 card.
UFC Canada announced that card change themselves.
There has been no reason given as to why the sudden change has been made for this top 10 light heavyweight division fight.
Teixeira (26-6-0) has won just one of his last three under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Jared Cannonier at UFC 208. Teixeira has previously challenged for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, losing to current champion Jon Jones at UFC 172. Teixeira is actually undefeated at UFC On Fox events, with wins coming over Quinton Jackson and Rashad Evans.
Cirkunov (13-3-0) is coming off of his first loss under the UFC banner, which came to Volkan Oezdemir at UFC Fight Night 109. Cirkunov hasn’t had any of his fights go the distance go the distance in almost six years, it’s a streak that has lasted for ten fights thus far. Cirkunov only defeated a single UFC veteran before signing with the promotion in 2015, as he defeated Rodney Wallace at Hard Knocks 41.
UFC On Fox 26 takes place on Saturday, December 16 from the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
