Fight Island Location Revealed, Top 15 Fights On UFC 250 Prelims

UFC 250’s prelims weren’t without their important fights. However, it’s what a fighter let slip that made headlines.

After Herbert Burns beat Evan Dunham, he said Burns said, “I wanna come back quickly. I wanna come back soon. I wanna fight on the Fight Island. I think we already know the location now, they already said it’s in Abu Dhabi. That is the plan. The plan is to go there and fight again soon and hopefully against a good guy. I give two names on the interviews previously, Bryce Mitchell and Ryan Hall, those guys are on my radar.”

Prior to this, the location of Fight Island was nowhere near as certain.

Other ranked fights on the show actually happened, though. #9 Alex Perez launched himself up the Flyweight ranks by topping the #4 Jussier Formiga with a nasty series of calf kicks in the first round.

#13 Ian Heinisch made quick work of Gerald Meerschaert on the UFC 250 prelims. It took just 74 seconds for “The Hurricane” the drop Meerschaert and follow up with ground and finished the fight to earn a huge victory.

Cody Stamann moved up to featherweight for a one-off, despite being the #12 Bantamweight. He would go on to defeat Brian Kelleher via unanimous decision. The win was a particularly emotional one, as Stamann lost his brother earlier this week, but continued the battle. We wish his friends and family the best, and send our condolences.
