Female MMA Fighter Accuses Commission Doctor Of Sexual Assault
Tara LaRosa is one of the trailblazers of female MMA and has fought some of the best competitors in the sport.
However, the fighter alleges during a medical exam prior to the Moosin: God Of Martial Arts event in 2010, a yet to be named commission doctor had sexually assaulted her.
LaRosa made these claims through Twitter:
#METOO B4 my 2nd fight w/ @Roxyfighter in MA the doctor insisted on personally doing a “breast exam” as part of the pre fight physical…

#METOO …a breast exam is done in NO other state. When I protested, he said I can either let him do it, or not fight. Massachusetts

Combat Laws Erik Magraken took to Twitter to show that the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission (MSAC) doesn’t have breast exams listed in their medical testing regulations:
Here are the MA medical regulations. I don't see 'breast exam' pic.twitter.com/XuYXzBo35x

I’ve been mad about it for years. I’ve been through worse shit, but I was angry that he did it to @Roxyfighter and God knows how many others

UFC veteran Roxanne Modafferi was LaRosa’a opponent that night and she claims through Twitter that the same thing happened to her:
We argued for like 30 minutes, too!! https://t.co/AsqUDltxzS

Magraken, in a series of tweets, is stating that all the fighters that this happened should contact the proper authorities and he has taken upon himself to get answers by writing to the MSAC):
This is messed up. Every fighter subjected to a BS 'breast exam' should lodge a formal complaint with the AC. This isn't right. https://t.co/hcKsJJuCjE

I have no idea how to do that, nor do I have money for a lawyer. …and they bank on that.

Don't need money or a lawyer. Here is their contact. E-mail them and tell them what happened. Others should too. pic.twitter.com/VQHqHu68Ij

I have written to the Mass AC. I have asked for an explanation of any justification for this practice. I will post their reply.

Fightful will continue to provide updates on this situation as they become available. There is now word yet from any other female MMA fighters if the same thing happened to them at events overseen by the MSAC.
