EXCLUSIVE: Sean Pierson Does Not Think McGregor Returns To UFC If He Fights Mayweather
Sean Pierson says UFC money is not enough to keep Conor McGregor if he fights Floyd Mayweather.
McGregor potentially boxing Mayweather has been a continually developing story in 2017. The latest development being UFC president Dana White saying the fight is going to happen, but still has roadblocks to overcome. On his weekly appearance on Fightful MMA's podcast, Sean Pierson, who said he does not think the boxing match will ever happen, said it could end McGregor's UFC career if it came to fruition.
"One, If the boxing match does happen, Conor I think he is getting killed. Two, I still don't know how Dana White and everybody in the UFC is getting paid in the end. So, until someone shows me the income is right there and how they are going to make money. Because what's going to happen here is Conor is going to get such a ridiculous pay day for this fight, what are the odds you get him back in the UFC to fight?" said Pierson. "Dana White is about to say 'Conor, you go, you guys are going to pay me fifty million' or whatever the UFC needs to make off this, I don't know. But now you've lost all potential revenue gains from the UFC, because I don't see Conor coming back to fight for UFC money," continued Pierson.
In the rest of the podcast, Pierson would discuss McGregor having his fines reduced by the Nevada Athletic Commission, Bellator's next pay-per-view, and Chael Sonnen's and Wanderlei Silva's fight on that Bellator card.
Pierson appears weekly on Fightful MMA's podcast which can be found at FightfulMMA.com.
