Dana White announces plans for Edwards vs. Chimaev
The UFC will begin the new year in Abu Dhabi on Fight Island and a new fight has been announced. White revealed to Aaron Bronsteter that welterweight contender Leon Edwards (no. 3) and Khamzat Chimaev (no. 15) will now face off on the UFC Jan 20 Card. The pair had been scheduled to close out the year at UFC Vegas 17 but after Edwards tested positive for coronavirus. the promotion had to postpone their bout.

Amanda Ribas has a new opponent at UFC 257
Amanda Ribas (no .8) will now take on Marina Rodriguez at UFC 257 after Michelle Waterson (no. 7) was forced to pull out of the fight. MMA Fighting reported that “The Karate Hottie” hasn’t disclosed the reasons for her withdrawal, who was coming off of a win over Angela Hill (no. 12) in September. Ribas will now face off with Marina Rodriguez (no. 9) according to AG Sport. Rodriguez last lost to Carla Esparza and will now be looking to capitalize on this situation.
Sergey Spivak vs. Jared Vanderaa removed from UFC 256 after positive COVID-19 test
UFC 256 has lost a heavyweight clash as Jared Vanderaa has tested positive for COVID-19. Farah Hannoun tweeted the news, which is a blow to the upcoming event.
