Dustin Poirier Tells Dana White: “Stop Playing Games” With Conor McGregor Rematch
Dana White recently said that the rematch between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier was a done deal as far as he knows, but Poirier says the UFC President is playing games with him.
Poirier took to Twitter recently in a now deleted tweet to tell White to stop playing games and send him the right contract for the rematch (via BJPenn.com):
ME @THENOTORIOUSMMA IS THE FIGHT JANUARY 23RD. LET’S MAKE IT OFFICIAL! @UFC @DANAWHITE SEND ME THE RIGHT CONTRACT. STOP PLAYING GAMES!
McGregor and Poirier met for the first time at UFC 178 in September of 2014, with McGregor scoring a first round TKO on that night. Since that first encounter over six years ago, McGregor has gone onto win the UFC lightweight championship and UFC featherweight championship, while Poirier would go on and win the UFC interim lightweight title.
The rematch between the two is reportedly set to go down at UFC 257 this January, so time is becoming of the essence to get the fight signed.
