Dustin Poirier’s Good Fight Foundation Donates Meals To Lafayette Hospital Staffs

Former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Dustin Poirier hasn’t competed since UFC 242, where he suffered a third round submission loss to UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Poirier, outside of the Octagon, runs a charity organization called the Good Fight Foundation.

The foundation is going to be donating 1,000 meals to hospital staffs in Poirier’s hometown of Lafayette, Louisiana and that was announced through Twitter:

“The Good Fight Foundation will be teaming up with Deanos Pizza and donating 1,000 meals to the hospital staff on the front lines of COVID-19 in Lafayette, LA (on) Easter Sunday and throughout next week. Wishing you all a safe an Happy Easter.”

MMA Junkie caught up with Poirier, who plans on feeding the staff from three different hospitals with the 1,000 meals.

“There’s three major hospitals here in Lafayette,” Poirier said. “We want to feed every employee – doctors, nurses – at every hospital.”

There is no word at this time as to when Poirier is supposed to compete again, as his upcoming bout against Dan Hooker at UFC Fight Night San Diego was postponed due to the coronavirus
