Drakkar Klose Talks Lando Vannata matchup, Incoming Fatherhood & Video Games

Drakkar Klose is getting back in the Octagon at UFC 226, where he will take on fellow rising prospect Lando Vannata.

The lightweight contender is coming off of a hometown loss to David Teymur at UFC 218 and Klose holds himself responsible for that defeat.

“I thought I signed up for a fight, not a track meet. It is what it is, that’s his style. I should’ve game planned a little better for that fight, the only person I could blame is myself. I should of just took it to him, but you know…onto the next,” Klose said in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.

That loss wasn’t just the first loss Klose suffered in UFC competition, but it was also the first loss of his professional MMA career.

Vannata said in a separate interview with James Lynch that he wants to go all three rounds with Klose, but Klose has a different plan in mind.

“I had watched an interview with you and Lando today, he wants it to go all three rounds. F*ck, he doesn’t want to fight me? I’m going out there to finish him, I know he gets tired around the seven minute mark. I’m just gonna go out there and put it on him, hopefully he’s ready for this pressure I’m gonna put on him,” says Klose.

UFC 226 takes place on Saturday, July 7 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
