Donald Cerrone Verbally Assaults Jackson-Winklejohn; Winklejohn, Mike Perry & Diego Sanchez Respond
Things between Donald Cerrone and Jackson-Winklejohn have apparently come to a boiling point, as the UFC star took some big shots at the fight team.
During an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, an angered Cerrone claims that the problems started when they chose to allow UFC Fight Night Denver opponent Mike Perry to train at the gym, despite his objections.
“I went to talk to Greg and Wink and say, ‘Hey, this guy’s (Mike Perry) brand new to the gym. He’s only been here one camp, a couple of months. I don’t think that it’s okay for him to come in and call me out. That’s not right. So if he is doing that, I don’t think we should allow him to train here for this fight,’” Cerrone said. “Then f**king Winkeljohn tells me, ‘I thought you called him out’, he’s just a s**t-ass and lies to your face, so to me he was like, ‘Sure, no problem, we’ll clear it up and we won’t have any issues.’ With Greg, his name is on that building. It’s Jackson-Wink. Jackson-f**king-Wink. When it came time to pick the decision and they said, ‘We want to go with Perry.’ Why the f**k didn’t you stand — because Greg’s still with me — he’s like, ‘I’ll just come to the ranch and we’ll sort this out.’ And I’m like, ‘What the f**k are you talking about?’ You tell me I can’t come into the Jackson-Wink gym, but you’re going to backdoor and come into my f**king house and we’re going to train to fight while Perry’s there at the gym.”
This outburst from Cerrone would lead to Mike Winklejohn speaking out against “Cowboy,” saying that Cerrone was never actually loyal to the team anyway.
“Loyalty is two sides,” Winkeljohn said to MMA Junkie. “‘Cowboy’ is not loyal to anybody in the gym. He’s on his own. He does his own thing. He has not, from what I can remember in the last 10 years, ever helped anybody out with their own camp. He’s as narcissistic as they come. I put up with it for a long time because Greg [Jackson] has the biggest heart in the world. He’s like my little brother. But at the same time, it was causing division. And by the way, of the teams that went out there, I think it’s 100 percent of people lost, because ‘Cowboy’ wants to do what he wants to do on his time frame, and it didn’t work for the fighters that train out there at the gym. So that made our percentage look bad, because we lost a lot of fights because of it.”
Perry would issue a reponse to what Cerrone said, promising to give “Cowboy” a Viking funeral:
Plus idk why @Cowboycerrone is acting like we ain’t in this shit about the money. He’s oblivious because he always had money. I’m a broke hungry fuckin lion and I’m glad you didn’t die in the scuba dive so I can kill you in the #Octagon ima give you that Spartan #BeautifulDeath
