Derrick Lewis Suffered Fractured Hand At UFC Fight Night Austin

Derrick Lewis was in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night Austin, securing a come from behind third round knockout win over Marcin Tybura.

It would appear that the affects of the fight are going to reach far beyond the Octagon for Lewis, as the fighter suffered a fractured hand during the encounter.

Lewis revealed the news through Instagram:

Damn that shit hurts — I have a 4th metacarpal fracture

A hand injury is not the only woe that Lewis has suffered over the years, as a back injury has also been hampering the fighter for quite some time now. The back injury caused Lewis to pull out of a bout against former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum at UFC 216.

Despite revealing the injury, a surging Lewis didn’t say just when the injury occurred and the competitor may not even know just when it happened.

There is no word yet from Lewis as to when the injury will heal or just when he could step into the Octagon again.
