Demian Maia, Johnny Walker, Charles Oliveira, Other Top 15 Fighters Win Big At UFC Fortaleza
Marlon Moraes, Raphael Assuncao, Jose Aldo and Renato Moicano weren’t the only stars of UFC Fortaleza.
Things weren’t so good for Lyman Good, who fell victim to a one-sided mollywhopping at the hands of #8 Demian Maia. The quick standing rear naked choke halted a three fight losing streak for Maia, and gave him his tenth submission win in the UFC

Light Heavyweight Johnny Walker continued his reign of terror and increased his hype. Walker blasted Justin Ledet with a huge back fist before nearly landing a soccer kick. After the fight, Walker said he hoped to fight in London next month.

Magomed Bibulatov came into Fortaleza as the biggest betting favorite and the #11 Flyweight, but won’t be ending the week in that same spot. Rogerio Bontorin scored a major upset by earning a split decision win, making the Dana White’s Contender Series project look like even more of a success.
Said Nurmagomedov, while the #12 Flyweight, didn’t bother competing at that weight, instead taking home an easy victory one weight class up. It took Nurmagomedov all of 2:28 before he finished Ricardo Ramos via strikes.
#12 Mara Romero Borella avoided any traction on a Taila Santos hype train by narrowly defeating the Brazilian via split decision.
While not ranked, Charles Oliveira continues to make history. Just six weeks after he extended his UFC submissions record, he did it again over David Teymur. The submission was his 13th in his UFC career.
