Darrion Caldwell Retains Championship At Bellator 204

Darrion Caldwell’s reign over the Bellator Bantamweight division continues after a successful Bellator 204 performance.

Caldwell unleashed a one sided performance again Noad Lahat in the main event of the show, which was mercifully finished after brutal ground and pound from the champion. You can see an excerpt from our live coverage from the show below.  

Round One: The round begins with Caldwell attacking Lahat with some leg kicks, Lahat charges at Caldwell and Caldwell scores a takedown on him. Caldwell starts attacking Lahat with some ground and pound, Caldwell briefly gains the half guard and side control against Lahat before returning to the full guard. Caldwell continues attacking Lahat with some ground and pound until the round ends.

Round Two: The round begins with Lahat attacking Caldwell with a kick to the midsection, Caldwell scores a takedown on Lahat and he gets the half guard. Caldwell goes back to attacking Lahat with ground and pound, Caldwell transitions to back control against Lahat. Caldwell attacks Lahat with ground and pound until the referee jumps in.

The fight marked Caldwell’s second successful consecutive title defense, which already ties him with the most in the division’s history alongside Eduardo Dantas, who Caldwell defeated for the championship. Caldwell has now won three title fights in total, two short of Dantas’ five.
