Darren Till Headlining UFC Fight Night Liverpool, Two Other Bouts Added To Card

The UFC is coming to Liverpool, England for the first time on Sunday, May 27 from UFC Fight Night Liverpool.

One half of the main event has already been announced for the card, with that fighter being Darren Till.

No opponent for Till has been named at this time, but that announcement should be coming in the coming weeks.

Till (16-0-1) is going to be headlining his second straight UFC event, with the first being a TKO win over Donald Cerrone at UFC Fight Night Gdansk. Till is also competing in Liverpool for the first time in his UFC career, which has lasted for five fights and nearly three years time. The lone blemish on Till’s professional MMA record came at UFC Fight Night 76, where he fought Nicolas Dalby to a majority draw.

Broadcast plans have also been announced by the UFC for the event, with the main card and portion of the preliminary card airing on Fox Sports 1, while some prelims will also stream live on UFC Fight Pass.

Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting is also reporting that two more fights have been added to the card as Daniel Kelly faces Tom Breese and Elias Theodorou faces Trevor Smith.

Kelly (13-3-0) enters the contest riding a two fight losing streak and he hasn’t earned a victory in a full year. Kelly’s last win in the promotion came at UFC 209, where he earned a split decision over former UFC Middleweight Champion Rashad Evans.

Breese (10-1-0) is looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Sean Strickland at UFC 199. Breese also returns to action for the first time in over two years, as UFC 199 took place in June of 2016.

Theodorou (14-2-0) has won three of his last four in the UFC, with that latest win coming over Daniel Kelly at UFC Fight Night Sydney. Theodorou also won the UFC Ultimate Fighter Nations, defeating Sheldon Westcott in the finals of the reality show.

Smith (15-7-0) has also won three of his last four in the UFC, but also returns to action for the first time in almost a year. Smith has seen his last four fights in the UFC go the distance, with the fighter’s last finish coming nearly three years ago.

UFC Fight Night Liverpool takes place on Sunday, May 27 from the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England with Darren Till headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
