Dana White Says UFC Returning To Korea

Chan Sung Jung returned after a three year absence to defeat Dennis Bermudez by first round knockout at UFC Fight Night 104. Jung did more than just get a win at UFC Fight Night 104, he convinced UFC President Dana White to return to Korea.

“I don’t know if anybody in the history of the fight game has come back after a three-plus year layoff and looked as good as he did tonight,” White said on the FOX Sports 1 post-fight show“Very impressive, and he pumped some excitement into UFC Korea. (UFC Owner) Ari (Emanuel) and I have been talking about going to Korea, so I think tonight he sealed the deal.”

The UFC ran it’s first show in Korea with UFC Fight Night 79 in November 2015, which saw former UFC Lightweight Champion Ben Henderson defeat Jorge Masvidal in the main event.

As for Bermudez, White feels that Jung simply outperformed the featherweight star.

“Let me tell you what, Dennis Bermudez is as nasty a fighter as you will ever face, and he came in tonight with all the advantages. And the Zombie, he performed again,” White said. “This guy is phenomenal athlete. He’s a great fighter. And man, is he a finisher.”

Jung would likely be joined by "Korean Superboy" Doo Ho Choi on a Korean card, as both have become breakout stars from the region.

Jung took three years off from being a professional MMA fighter to serve in his countries military, Jung did not compete in the UFC’s debut in Korea.
