Dana White Says TUF 29 Filming After Fight Island Run

The UFC has firm plans for The Ultimate Fighter return.

UFC is returning to Fight Island later this month for another slate of events, beginning with UFC 253 on September 26 and ending with UFC 254 on October 24. One of the people staying on the island for the one-month duration is UFC President Dana White. White says that when he returns to the United States in late-October, filming for the latest season of the UFC Ultimate Fighter will begin.

“We’re going to ‘Fight Island,’” White said after Contender Series Episode 32 (via Nolan King & Ken Hathaway of MMA Junkie). “They all have these big plans on how we’re going to announce all this stuff. ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ is coming back, too. I start filming that when I come back from ‘Fight Island.’ We’ve got the Contender Series. (There are) lots of things going on.”

While TUF will be making a comeback, no word has been given on when the reality show will return or how it will air.

Rumors have also stated that the Contender Series will soon go on hiatus. White says those rumors are correct. This coming week’s edition of the Contender Series, which is episode 33, is reportedly the final one until the hiatus ends in November.

“(Contender Series goes) on hiatus, until I get back,” White said. “I’ll be (on ‘Fight Island’) the whole five weeks.”
