Dana White Says The Law Must Punish Conor McGregor Before UFC Does For Bus Attack

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and a select amount of friends attacked a bus full of UFC competitors a few days before UFC 223, allegedly looking to get at UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

There has been no punishment issued by the UFC at this time, but UFC President Dana White says punishment won’t come until the law deals with the Irishman first.

“We’ll see,” White told TMZ“Well he’s gotta be punished by the law first. Let’s see what happens in New York. He’s got to go through that first”

McGregor did turn himself into the authorities after the attack, plus fellow UFC fighter Michael Chiesa did file a police report on the incident.

White would also like to see McGregor return to action and fight Nurmagomedov, but he also wants the bout to happen in Las Vegas.

“If you do a fight that big, you’ve got do it in Vegas,” he said. “Khabib will fight in Russia at some point, but it wont be that fight. It’s too big. You’ve got to do it in Vegas.”

The former lightweight champion is due back in court this summer, which is when the next step in the legal process will play out.
