Dana White Proclaims Daniel Cormier To Be One Of The Best Fighters Of All Time
UFC President Dana White was in attendance at UFC 226, where UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier defeated Stipe Miocic to win the UFC Heavyweight Title.
After becoming a double champion at UFC 226, one thing White is ready to do is to proclaim Cormier to be one of the greatest fighters of all time.
“One of the best of all-time,” White said at the UFC 226 post-fight press conference.
Cormier is just one of a handful of fighters to hold multiple titles in different weight classes under the UFC banner, while also joining Conor McGregor as the only champions to hold gold in two weight classes at the same time.
White is also hopeful that the win at UFC 226 will finally see Cormier get the respect the champion deserves.
“I think that what this does is finally gives him the respect that he deserves,” White said. “He’s a two-division champion and now he’s got a big fight ahead of him, a big payday, and it couldn’t happen to a better guy. He’s an incredible ambassador for the sport. I said a long time ago, I told Daniel, ‘If you’re my champion for the rest of my career, I’ll be a very happy man.’ He’s a great analyst, he does a great job on television. I just can’t say enough good things about the guy and I’m really happy for him.”
The biggest payday in DC’s career could be next for the double champion, as he has a potential bout with former UFC Heavyweight Champion coming up in the future.
