Dana White Says Francis Ngannou vs. Stipe Miocic II “Won’t Be Ready Till March”
Stipe Miocic is expected to defend the UFC heavyweight title next in a rematch with Francis Ngannou and UFC President Dana White has a timeline for when the bout will go down.
White says that the rematch between Miocic and Ngannou should happen by March of next year, meaning it will happen three-plus years after their initial encounter.
“That fight won’t be ready till March,” White said to TMZ Sports (via Danny Segura of MMA Junkie). “… It could (happen). Yeah, that’s the goal. We’ll see what happens.”
Miocic and Ngannou met for the first time at UFC 220 in January of 2018, with Miocic scoring a unanimous decision on that night to retain the heavyweight gold. Miocic has gone 2-1-0 since that first encounter and is riding a two fight winning streak , while Ngannou has gone 4-1-0 since that meeting while riding a four-fight winning streak.
