Dana White: Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor Is “Going To Happen”

UFC President Dana White is now a believer that the dream match between Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor is going to happen.

White appeared on Conan O'Brien's late night talk show this week and said he thinks it will happen, despite the difficulties in making a fight between an MMA fighter and a boxer

"I do think it's going to happen," White said. "I think it's going to be a tough deal, because, obviously, there are a lot of egos involved in this deal and a lot of people, so that always make it tougher. [But] on the flip side, there's so much money involved, I just don't see how it doesn't happen."

White spoke on what makes this fight interesting and even spoke about McGregor's strengths and how it would be a tougher fight than people would think.

"A lot of things make this fight intriguing," White said. "Conor McGregor is huge. He's in the prime of his career. Floyd is 40. Floyd has always had problems with southpaws; Conor is a southpaw, and Conor hits hard. When he hits people, they go. Floyd is definitely not knocking him out. That's for sure. I'm not saying Conor would win this boxing match, but it sure makes it interesting."

If a fight were to occur, it would most likely be a boxing match, Mayweather's specialty. McGregor, who is the UFC lightweight champion, is currently taking a break as he expects the birth of his first child in May.
