Dana White: CM Punk Is One Of The Easiest People I’ve Ever Dealt With

Dana White comments on CM Punk returning to WWE.

After he left WWE in January 2014, CM Punk ventured to the world of MMA, signing a deal with the UFC in December 2014 and eventually fighting for the promotion in September 2016. Punk had two UFC fights, losing both, though his last one was overturned to a no contest as Mike Jackson failed a drug test for marijuana.

Punk wouldn’t return to MMA after his loss to Jackson in June 2018. He would return to WWE at Survivor Series this past Saturday.

Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Dana White commented on Punk returning to WWE.

“I texted him that night after he walked out in Chicago,” said White. “It was amazing. I texted and congratulated him, it was incredible. “I’ve had nothing but a great relationship with him since the day we met. He’s a super nice guy. He’s one of the easiest people I’ve ever dealt with. Do I give my blessing? 100 percent. I love the guy.”

Speaking about his fights against Mickey Gall and Jackson, Dana said of Punk, “Look, those were tough fights. You know what else is important? Everybody that he trained with and everybody around him in his camp respected him. That spoke volumes.”

Punk continued his involvement in the world of MMA after retiring from competition, serving as a commentator for CFFC, which airs on UFC Fight Pass.

Punk gave his first promo in WWE on Monday, saying he was “home.”
