Dana White Addresses Criticism Towards Lack Of Punishment For New Year’s Eve Altercation: “What Should My Punishment Be?”
UFC President Dana White addressed the criticism many have had over the lack of professional punishment he’s faced for slapping his wife on New Year’s Eve in Mexico.
White spoke with the media during the UFC Vegas 67 post-fight press conference on Saturday night and responded with the following, after being asked why he hasn’t suffered seemingly any professional ramifications for his actions from either the UFC or Endeavor.
“The only thing that matters is my personal life. What else is there?” White said (h/t MMA Fighting). “I told you, I was going to leave in 2016 with the sale. I could’ve sat out during COVID. What should my punishment be? And you say, ‘There’s going to be repercussions in your personal life, but none in your professional life.’ But what matters other than my personal life? Nothing. Nothing matters except for my personal life. This is great, love doing it. Don’t have to do it.”

TBS is also set to continue with the debut of Dana White’s Power Slap League on their network this Wednesday night, despite White’s actions. The UFC’s head honcho smirked while responding to if everything about the league will remain the same following the delay. The continued response from White and lack thereof from the promotion or Endeavor is frankly appalling.
“Everything’s the same,” White said. “We pushed it back a week because I was supposed to come back and do this whole media tour, which obviously wasn’t going to happen when I got back. I feel good. I think that it’s insanely entertaining and I think people are going to like it.”
