Dan Hardy is reportedly set to make his long-awaited return…but he’ll be trading in 4-ounce MMA gloves for some Boxing mitts.
According to Ariel Helwani, the former UFC contender will take on former UFC Welterweight Champion, Tyron Woodley in a Boxing match next spring at a yet-to-be determined location in the UK.
Hardy, 39, was forced to retire from active competition in 2012 due to an irregular heart condition and made the transition to the commentary booth and became a staple alongside John Gooden for most international UFC events. Hardy was recently cleared to return to competition but couldn’t come to an agreement with the UFC and was released from both his commentary and fighter deals by the promotion this past May.
Fellow 39-year old Tyron Woodley is just a few months removed from his split-decision loss against Jake Paul this past August. The loss to Paul was Woodley’s first professional Boxing bout and his first post-UFC fight since being released from the promotion following a four-fight losing streak after holding the company’s 170-pound championship from 2016-2018.
