Cub Swanson Headlines UFC Fight Night Fresno Against Brian Ortega
A featherweight division affair is reportedly going to be headlining the upcoming UFC Fight Night Fresno card as #4 Cub Swanson takes on #6 Brian Ortega.
It was Swanson who announced the fight himself via Instagram:
Swanson (25-7-0) enters the fight on the strength of a four fight winning streak and that streak has lasted well over two years. Swanson has won two of the three main event fights he has competed in, defeating Jeremy Stephens at UFC Fight Night 44 and then defeating Artem Lobov at UFC Fight Night 108. Swanson has also seen his last four UFC fights go the distance and UFC On Fox 15 was the last time one of Swanson’s fights ended with a finish.
Ortega (12-0-0-1NC) is going to be headlining his first ever UFC event and his undefeated streak has lasted over seven years now. Ortega has earned four wins in the UFC, those wins came over Diego Brandao, Thiago Tavares, Clay Guida and Renato Carneiro. Ortega is a former Resurrection Fighting Alliance Featherweight Champion, defeating Keoni Koch to win the belt at RFA 12.
UFC Fight Night Fresno takes place on Saturday, December 9 from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California with Cub Swanson and Brian Ortega headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
