Cory Sandhagen, Alexander Volkov Get $50,000 Bonuses At UFC Vegas 18
Four fighters earned extra paychecks at UFC Vegas 18: Cory Sandhagen, Alexander Volkov, Beneil Dariush and Diego Ferreira.
Co-headliner Sandhagen and main eventer Volkov were each presented $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses for their finishes of Frankie Edgar and Alistair Overeem, respectively. Sandhagen shut off Frankie Edgar with a flying knee that is surely an early Knockout of the Year candidate. Volkov took a more accumulative approach, bloodying Overeem until the legend was crawling on his hands and knees.

Dariush and Ferreira put on a fun scrap, highlighted by Dariush’s forward pressure and Ferreira’s refusal to settle. The first round was all action on the feet and mat. The second and third rounds, although more subdued, were still entertaining. Dariush got a split decision nod in a fight many believed he won decisively.
