Conor McGregor Teases Fight With Tenshin Nasukawa, Who Responds
Floyd Mayweather, who defeated Conor McGregor over two years ago in what was dubbed “The Money Fight,” recently defeated Tenshin Nasukawa in an boxing exhibition at Rizin 14.
McGregor, never one to miss an opportunity, would take to Twitter to challenge Nasukawa to a fight:
I wish to go to Tokyo to face Tenshin Nasukawa in a Mixed Martial Arts exhibition bout.
Before this summer.
Please arrange this, this instant.
Yours sincerely
The champ champ. @ufc @ParadigmSM— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) January 7, 2019
There has been no response yet from either Rizin or the UFC on the challenge made from the former two division UFC champion, but Nasukawa did respond with the following on Twitter:
Dear Mr. McGregor. @TheNotoriousMMA
Thank you very much for remembering my name. I’m honored that you would even consider fighting me.58kg, kickboxing rules would probably get us in the ring sometime in the near future — pic.twitter.com/BTgVVnwXLA

Even if the bout does come to fruition, it could be awhile before it happens anyway because McGregor and Nurmagomedov are both awaiting punishment from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for their roles in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl. The NSAC is supposed to decide their fates later this month, it is unclear as to exactly what kind of punishments both fighters may be facing.
