Conor McGregor Says He’s Ready For A Long Night At UFC 229, Predicts First Round Finish

Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor and UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov are set to class this October at UFC 229.

Nurmagomedov has seen ten of his twenty six professional MMA bouts go the distance, but McGregor is prepared for a five round war.

“This fool has been saying it’s going to be a long night. I’m ready for a long night. You hold onto legs for dear life. That’s how you fight. You talk, ‘Chicken this, chicken that.’ You (expletive) your jocks with you (expletive) game on top. But you fight like a little (expletive) rat anyway. … I’m going to love every second of it. I hope it’s a long night,” says McGregor at the UFC 229 press conference.

McGregor has competed in twenty four fights as a pro, with only two of them going the distance.

Even though McGregor is ready for five rounds of war, a prediction made by the Irishman is for a first round finish.

“I’ll believe one (round to win). He has a glass jaw. All my Chechen friends, they tell me they have chicken jaws in Dagestan,” says McGregor.

UFC 229 takes place on Saturday, October 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
