Conor McGregor Says He Competed At UFC 229 With A Broken Foot
A defeated McGregor apparently came into the bout while not in the best of health, as the fighter allegedly had a broken foot on that night.
McGregor revealed that information through Twitter:
I broke my foot 3 weeks out from the bout.
I still marched forward however, and also landed the final blows of the night.
On his blood brother.
I am happy with how the contest went and the lessons learned.
In my fighting and more importantly my preparation.
Time will reveal all. https://t.co/VNxbrfk6qx— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 11, 2019
The fighter recently finished up a suspension for his role in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl, while Nurmagomedov still has three months to go. McGregor also recently ended a self-imposed retirement, but has yet to announce when a potential return to the Octagon will take place.
Neither McGregor or a member of his camp revealed anything about a potential injury, nevertheless a broken foot, in the lead up to or after the title bout.
