Conor McGregor is relying only on himself.
In 2016, McGregor established himself as a two-division champion and pay-per-view star. After defeating Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205, McGregor made it known he wanted UFC to come talk to him about his next fight. He also announced he would be a father soon and needed time away. Since then a lot has happened between UFC and McGregor. His featherweight title was stripped and given to interim champion Jose Aldo. A fight with Floyd Mayweather has been talked about intermittently. McGregor applied and received a boxing license in California. Other boxers have weighed in on the McGregor situation including Canelo Alvarez, Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner.
On Saturday, McGregor took part in a one on one interview. The event was held in an arena in Manchester, England and broadcasted on pay-per-view. Before the interview, McGregor made an Instagram post to express his current mood about combat sports.
UFC has not responded. McGregor is not expected back in The Octagon until late 2017.
