Combate Americas’ “Copa Combate” Airing Live On NBC Sports Network

Combate Americas’ is going to be holding a one night, eight man tournament and the winner will receive a total of $100,000.

When the event takes place on November 11, fans in North America are going to be able to watch the event live on the NBC Sports Network.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to offer this incredible event to both the Telemundo and NBCSN audiences in Spanish and in English, respectively” Combate Americas CEO Campbell McLaren said in a press release. “Copa Combate is the first event of its kind in the MMA fight world, so being able to serve the largest group of fans possible in the U.S. under the NBC umbrella is an honor.”

The eight fighters participating in the tournament are Andres Ayala, John Castaneda, Mikey Erosa, Marc Gomez, Kevin Moreyra, Ricky Palacios, Carlos Rivera and Marcelo Rojo. UFC fighters Juliana Pena and Gilbert Melendez are also handling the English play-by-play side of things.

A drawing is going to be held this Thursday for the quarterfinal match ups and there is going to be a pair of alternate bouts taking place on the same night as the tournament. There will also be a trio of women’s bouts on the card as well, with the Gloria Bravo/Melissa Martinez bout airing as part of the live broadcast.

Combate Americas’ “Copa Combate” takes place on Saturday, November 11 from the Grand Oasis Cancun in Cancun, Mexico with no main event announced at this time. Fightful will provide quick results of the event, which airs live on the NBC Sports Network.
