Colby Covington Says Woodley vs. Dos Anjos PPV Won’t Draw Well
UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley recently stated that former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos may get the next shot at the title.
Colby Covington is a longtime rival of the champion and he claims that a potential Woodley versus RDA pay-per-view isn’t going to do very well.
“You’re going to do the least amount of pay-per-views ever in history if they do Woodley and RDA,” Covington said to MMA Junkie Radio.
The UFC hasn’t made anything official as of yet, but UFC President Dana White also said recently that an Woodley/RDA bout made the most sense.
Covington says that the UFC should be giving him the next title shot over the Brazilian contender.
“I just don’t get why they want to do RDA,” Covington said. “It’s not a money fight. Tyron wants to be the hero, so if he wants to be the hero, he needs to come fight me. I’m the villain. I’m the bad guy of the division. I’m the most hated guy in the division.”
The welterweight contender also isn’t too fond of Brazilians, calling them “filthy animals” back at UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo.
