Cody Garbrandt vs. Pedro Munhoz Set For UFC 235 On March 2
UFC 235 is filling up with the quickness. Just a day after Jon Jones vs. Anthony Smith and Tyron Woodley vs. Kamaru Usman were both revealed, the show gained a former champion.
#2 UFC bantamweight and former champion Cody Garbrandt is set for battle against Pedro Munhoz. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported the news, which was later confirmed by Garbrandt himself on social media.

Garbrandt will be competing for the first time since losing a rematch for the UFC Bantamweight Championship at UFC 227 to TJ Dillashaw. This will actually be the first time he’s faced someone who isn’t TJ Dillashaw since 2016. That also happens to be his last win — a title victory over then-champion Dominick Cruz.
Munhoz is on a hot streak, having won six of his last seven bouts. Most recently, he put away Bryan Caraway via TKO in November. The fight marks a major jump in competition in which Munhoz has faced trouble with in the past, losing to John Dodson, Raphael Assuncao and Jimmie Rivera.
UFC 235 takes place March 2 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful will have full, live coverage of the show, as well as a post-show podcast.
