Coach Matt Hume & TJ Dillashaw Respond To Flyweight Title Fight Cancellation
UFC 215 was supposed to be headlined by a UFC Flyweight Title fight pitting champion Demetrious Johnson against Ray Borg.
However, just a day before the event, the challenger fell ill and the bout was pulled from the card.
Matt Hume is the longtime coach of Johnson and he says that the whole team is beyond disappointed in the whole situation.
Hume shared his feelings on a Facebook post:
TJ Dillashaw is a former UFC Bantamweight Champion and he is challenging Cody Garbrandt for the gold at UFC 217.
Prior to Dillashaw challenging for the gold, the former champion was planning on dropping to flyweight in an attempt to put together a super fight with Johnson.
Johnson would turn the fight down in favor of facing Borg, a move that drew the ire of UFC President Dana White.
Dillashaw went to Twitter to share his feelings on the flyweight title bout being canned:

If the bout had gone through as planned, then a win for the UFC Flyweight Champion would have broke the record for most consecutive title defenses in the UFC.
