Henry Cejudo retired from UFC at UFC 249 and CM Punk already has the perfect WWE gimmick in mind for him.
After successfully defending the UFC Bantamweight Championship against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249, Henry Cejudo officially retired from the sport (unless Dana White adds an extra zero to his check, that is).
In his post-fight speech, Cejudo revealed that he would like to go to WWE to make an appearance and go after the legendary Rey Mysterio.
“I would love to do an appearance, but the stuff they do in WWE, shit, I would love to beat up on Rey Mysterio. He can bend the knee too. And Kurt Angle,” he said.
CM Punk, a man who had a short stint in the UFC following his WWE exit, took to Twitter following this statement by Cejudo to jokingly say he can see Henry debuting on Monday Night Raw already with a masked gimmick of his own.
.@HenryCejudo going to be on RAW Monday. @VinceMcMahon gonna put him under a hood and call him the Corona Kid. @ufc #UFC249

Of course, both WWE and UFC are making changes to their events because of the Coronavirus pandemic currently plaguing the world. Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza actually had to pull out of UFC 249 following a positive test for COVID-19.
A run in WWE wouldn’t be totally out of the question for Cejudo. In the past, he’s talked about doing something with WWE, revealing he had talks with WWE and had a trip to Orlando to tryout at the Performance Center.
As for CM Punk, he will return to his analyst role on FS1’s WWE backstage this coming Tuesday, May 12.
