Claudia Gadelha Faces Angela Hill At UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris
A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris as #6 Claudia Gadelha faces Angela Hill.
UFC President Dana White revealed the bout during an interview with Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
Gadelha (17-4-0) has rotated wins and losses in her last five UFC bouts, with the latest contest being a unanimous decision win over Randa Markos at UFC 239. Gadelha has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Title, losing to then champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale. Gadelha has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of them came by way of decision.
Hill (12-7-0) enters the contest riding a three fight winning streak, defeating the trio of Ariane Carnelossi, Hannah Cifers and Loma Lookboonmee. Hill is competing for the fourth time in 2020 and we are not even halfway through the year when this event takes place. Hill hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost a year, with her last loss coming to Xiaonan Yan at UFC 238 in June of 2019.
UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris takes place on Saturday, May 16 from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida with Alistair Overeem vs. Walt Harris headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
