Chris Weidman Submits Kelvin Gastelum At UFC on Fox 25

Two years after losing the UFC middleweight title, Chris Weidman is back in the winner's circle after submitting Kelvin Gastelum at UFC on Fox 25.

Weidman and Gastelum headlined the card, which was at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York, and Weidman submitted the eighth-ranked Gastelum with an arm triangle choke 3:45 into the third round of their fight.

Round Three: The round begins with Weidman dropping Gastelum during a striking exchange, Gastelum gets back up and Weidman nails him with a knee strike. Weidman rocks Gastelum with a multiple punch combination, Gastelum starts catching Weidman with some jabs. Weidman nails Gastelum with a kick followed by a right, Weidman grabs Gastelum and he scores a takedown. Gastelum gets right back up with Weidman holding onto him, Weidman scores another takedown on Gastelum and he gets back control. Weidman catches Gastelum in an arm triangle choke from out of nowhere to force a submission.

Weidman dominated the fight, controlling the ground game, especially in the second round of the fight, although Weidman got his submission late in the following round. The win snapped Weidman's three-fight losing streak and Gastelum now suffered his first loss since 2015.

In the post-fight interview, Weidman called out current UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping, issuing a challenge to the champion.
