Championship Fight Headlining UFC 210

A light heavyweight title rematch will be headlining the UFC’s return to Buffalo, New York as champion Daniel Cormier will be defending against challenger #1 Anthony Johnson.

Cormier (18-1-0) will be making the second defense of his championship, as he last defended it against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 192 in 2015. Cormier defeated Johnson in their first encounter at UFC 187, that victory made Cormier the UFC Interim Light Heavyweight Champion. Cormier pulled out of their originally scheduled fight at UFC 206 this past December due to injuries.

Johnson (22-5-0) has gone undefeated since the initial defeat to Cormier, earning victories over the trio of Jimi Manuwa, Ryan Bader and Glover Teixeira. Prior to suffering the aforementioned defeat to Cormier at UFC 187, Johnson was riding a nine fight winning streak, with notable wins coming over David Branch, Andrei Arlovski, Mike Kyle, Phil Davis, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Alexander Gustafsson. Johnson has also fought in four different weight classes since his professional MMA debut in 2006, as he competed as a welterweight, middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight.

UFC 210 takes place on Saturday, April 8 from the Keybank Center in Buffalo, New York with Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson headlining.
