Chael Sonnen Says He Regrets Breaking Tito Ortiz’s Neck
Chael Sonnen was on the wrong side of a first round submission loss to former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz at Bellator 170.
The fight was the retirement bout for Ortiz, who retired to deal with a series of nagging injuries to his neck and elsewhere.
Ortiz recently updated fans on his health following a successful neck surgery.
However, it is Ortiz’s past opponent in Sonnen who has taken credit for “breaking” the neck of Ortiz and now the fighter says he “regrets” his action.
Sonnen made the statements through Twitter:
Y'wanna send the twins up for a week or two while you recover?
They might enjoy some hot food & indoor plumbing….— Chael Sonnen (@ChaelSonnen) August 13, 2017
Teets
I'm glad I beat you, but I regret breaking your neck
Glad you got it fixed
Please send me Dr. bills
I feel responsible to help.— Chael Sonnen (@ChaelSonnen) August 13, 2017
It would appear that Sonnen is making enemies by the day, because he has also taken aim at another former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion in Chuck Liddell in recent weeks.
