Casey Kenney Using UFC 254 Bonus To Buy His Mom A Car For Christmas

Casey Kenney’s mom has a very merry Christmas in store.

Kenny is coming off the biggest win of his career. The bantamweight prospect beat Nathaniel Wood on the undercard of UFC 254, a card headlined by Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Justin Gaethje. The all-action fight earned both men Fight of the Night honors. Kenney (16-2-1) recently told Fightful his mom should expect a generous Christmas present.

“I think she has a good Christmas present coming regardless. We’ll definitely up it there. Nothing too crazy of a vehicle but maybe a small vehicle. I don’t know, we’ll see, we’ll see. Got to check mom out and see what she needs in life,” Kenney shared. “I’m always chasing bonuses, chasing checks. Like you said earlier, it’s not an old man’s game. I’m still young but I’m not getting any younger. That’s for sure.”

Kenney also said he has officially put in a request to compete at UFC 256.

“I said December 12,” he revealed. “I took a couple of weeks off but I’m still in pretty good shape after the craziness in October. A four or five-week camp sounds perfect right now.”

The bantamweight division is overflowing with talent. Look no further than the fact that Marlon Vera is only ranked no. 15. Kenney is aware of the shark-infested waters at 135-pounds and is willing to fight another unranked prospect, including Raoni Barcelos.

“There are a lot of bantamweights on that cusp. Jack Shore is one of them that is on the top of my head. The guy Barcelos just fought, Taha is a good one. I was hoping to see [Thomas] Almeida make a big comeback but it is what it is. I guess [Jonathan] Martinez is in there as well,” Kenney mulled. “Brian Kelleher was kind of making noise there for a little while. I’m up for it all.”
