Shane McMahon always delivers in the biggest moments on the biggest stages, but is he a good wrestler?
That's the burning question asked by TMZ Sports of two ECW Originals and WWE Veterans, Bubba Ray Dudley and Tommy Dreamer.
This was the look they exchanged right after the question was asked:
So, it's possible that everything that followed was just one giant rib on Shane, but if not, Bubba and Dreamer are HUGE Shane-O Mac fans, because they put him over HARD.
Bubba started out quibbling with the definition of wrestler when it comes to Shane, but he was soon singing Shane's praises. “Maybe not ‘wrestler’ in the traditional sense of the word, but Shane is one of those guys that’s really great at creating that ‘Holy Shit’ moment. Shane’s crazy," said Bubba. "We’re friends with Shane, we’ve been on the road with Shane, we’ve hung out with Shane, we’ve drank with Shane … Shane goes out there to steal the show all the time. Shane wants to do the craziest stunt ever. I mean, he jumped off the Titantron. He’s nuts. He legitimately wants to just … “
“… Do everything,” Dreamer broke in. Yes, these guys know each other so well, they're finishing each other's sentences. Dreamer went on to say that Shane is “technically sound. Shane is very, very good. If you just watch his WrestleMania match with AJ Styles, it was a real, real good match. I also think Shane doesn’t get enough credit because he doesn’t have to do that to his body, and he does."
Then Dreamer volunteered that Shane should think about turning to MMA. Seriously.
"And I also think the (WWE) should have Shane McMahon enter UFC because he is a real badass, (Here Bubba nods vociferously) and he would fare well in UFC. There’s a lot of guys who like to talk smack, like a Conor McGregor. I would love to see Shane McMahon go to UFC, because I think he would choke some dudes out or knock them out.”
The interview asked if they thought that Shane would fare better than former WWE Champion CM Punk did during his first MMA fight. Bubba said this:
“There’s no doubt that Shane can (handle himself) … Shane is like that rabid pitbull that will fight until the death. Even if like we’re backstage and just kidding around and horseplaying and wrestling in the back, he HAS to win every single contest. You are not gonna keep him down. You’re gonna have to kill him, to beat him.”
