Brian Ortega On Chan Sung Jung: “We Kind Of Don’t Like Each Other”

Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung are not friends.

Ortega and Jung will battle next month in the main event of UFC Fight Night: Ortega vs. Jung. The one-time featherweight title challenger believes that he and Jung will engage in a slugfest on October 17, especially since they don’t like each other.

“A slugfest basically,” Ortega said to MMA Junkie. “Me and him kind of already have our thing where we want to hit each other in the face. So honestly, I just see a slugfest and some technical work. But yeah – we kind of don’t like each other.”

Things took a turn for the worse between the featherweight contenders when Ortega slapped Jay Park, who was Jung’s translator, at UFC 248.

Ortega also believes the winner of his bout against Jung will get the next shot at the UFC featherweight title.

“From what I’ve heard, and I’ve posted on my social media and Dana White’s said it himself – he said the winner of this fight gets the shot to fight for the belt,” Ortega said. “I don’t make the rules. I don’t do nothing – it came straight from the horse’s mouth. I’ve never heard him talk about anybody else having a title shot after their fight. I heard it from this fight.”

UFC Fight Night: Ortega vs. Jung is set for Saturday, October 17 from a location to be announced with Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
