BREAKING: Ronda Rousey Returning At UFC 207
Ronda Rousey is returning to MMA.
After nearly a year off, the former UFC Bantamweight champion Rousey (12-1) will take on current champion Amanda Nunes (13-4) on December 30 at UFC 205 in Las Vegas.
"The thing that everybody has been waiting for for a good year, Ronda Rousey is back. Ronda Rousey is gonna be back. She will fight Dec. 30 for the title, in Vegas, against Amanda Nunes for the title," UFC President Dana White announced on The Herd Wednesday.
Rousey last fought in November 2015 when she lost her championship to Holly Holm via vicious knockout. Since then, the title has been held by two other women, finally settling on Nunes.
Rumors have been running rampant for months regarding Rousey's return. During her time off Rousey has been working in film. In that time, the title has been defended twice, and TUF 18 champion Julianna Pena has been angling for a title fight.
"Amanda has been ready to defend her title against whoever," said Dana White, who claimed he also isn't concerned about Rousey losing as it's "a part of the sport."
UFC 207 takes place on December 30 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. A heavyweight fight between former champions Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum will take place on the show.
