BKFC Starting “Pension” Plan For Retired Fighters

BKFC is taking the first steps to offer their fighters some type of support post-fighting.

BKFC announced on Thursday that the organization is starting a pension plan for its retired athletes.

“Our fighters are the most important asset of the company,” BKFC president Dave Feldman stated (per MMA Junkie). “We want to ensure that they are compensated not only on the night of the fight, but also looked after in retirement. For each BKFC fight, money will be placed in a pension account for them to draw on upon retirement.”

“BKFC is the hottest, fastest-growing and most exciting sport in the world and we want to ensure that our fighters are taken care of in every possible way.”

The pension plan will begin with BKFC 17. The event is scheduled for April 30 in Birmingham, Alabama. The evening’s main event consists of Josh Burns vs. Dillon Cleckler in a heavyweight title eliminator.
