Big Middleweight Fight Set For UFC 210
A middleweight division attraction is the first fight added to April’s UFC 210 as #4 Chris Weidman is in action against #5 Gegard Mousasi.
Weidman (13-2-0) has been winless since dropping the UFC Middleweight Title to Luke Rockhold at UFC 194, he also suffered a defeat to Yoel Romero at UFC 205. Weidman is a former UFC Middleweight Champion, he defeated Anderson Silva at UFC 162 to win the title, he defended it a total of three times before losing it. Weidman started his professional MMA career with a thirteen fight undefeated streak, an undefeated streak that has last a total of six years time.
Mousasi (41-6-2) will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak, with those four victories coming over Thales Leites, Thiago Santos, Vitor Belfort and Uriah Hall. Mousasi is also a former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion, he would defend it once before losing it to Bellator MMA veteran King Mo. Mousasi has been undefeated when competing on UFC pay-per-view events, going 2-0-0 with wins at UFC 200 and UFC 204.
UFC 210 takes place on Saturday, April 8 from the Key Bank Center in Buffalo, New York with no main event announced at this time.
