Big Heavyweight Fight Added To UFC 211

A heavyweight division clash has been added to the upcoming UFC 211 card that will pit #1 Fabricio Werdum against #5 Ben Rothwell.

Werdum (21-6-1) is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion and a former UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion, he has also won seven of his last eight under the UFC banner. Werdum will also be competing for the second time since he lost the UFC Heavyweight Title to Stipe Miocic at UFC 198 in May 2016. Werdum will be competing in his fifth straight pay-per-view card in the UFC.

Rothwell (36-10-0) has won four of his last five under the UFC banner, with some notable wins coming over Alistair Overeem, Matt Mitrione and Josh Barnett. Rothwell is 1-4-0 against former or current UFC Heavyweight Champions, defeating Ricco Rodriguez, while suffering defeats to Tim Sylvia, Andrei Arlovski, Junior Dos Santos and Cain Velasquez. Rothwell will be competing for the first time in nearly a year, with his last fight a loss to Junior Dos Santos at UFC Fight Night 86 in April 2016.

UFC 211 takes place on Saturday, May 13 from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas with Stipe Miocic and Junior Dos Santos headlining.
