Ben Askren Says Retirement Would Happen If Kamaru Usman KO’d Him
Ben Askren made his UFC debut at UFC 235, defeating former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler by first round submission.
The win makes the fighter a top contender for the UFC Welterweight Title currently held by Kamaru Usman and Askren has promised that retirement would happen if Usman defeated him by knockout.
That promise was made by Askren via Twitter:
If Marty KOs me I would literally retire, look at his record he can’t punch worth a damn https://t.co/R26lbZ3WOa

Askren is currently undefeated as a professional MMA fighter, while having picked up six wins by way of KO/TKO. Usman has picked up fifteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and six of them have come by way of KO/TKO.
It could be quite some time before the two clash, as former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Colby Covington is reportedly next to challenge Usman for the gold. Askren could also find himself busy with the winner of the upcoming UFC Fight Night London main event, which pits Darren Till against Jorge Masvidal.
