Bellator MMA Announces Multi-Year Live Streaming Deal With DAZN
Starting this September, fans of Bellator MMA are going to be able to watch all of the promotions card live because the organization has announced a multi-year streaming deal with DAZN.
Bellator MMA President Scott Coker says the deal is going to be a game changer for the promotion because it will allow them to sign more fighters and put on higher quality cards.
“This exciting new partnership with DAZN is a game-changer for Bellator,” Coker stated at a press conference. “The investment will enable us to continue expanding our roster with free agents that make sense so we can put on pay-per-view-worthy fight cards that fans will want to see. Plus, on DAZN’s worldwide platform, our fights will be seen live for the first time to new audiences around the globe.”
The deal will see seven events air exclusively on DAZN, while the remaining events will get broadcasted simultaneously on DAZN and the Paramount Network.
DAZN CEO James Rushton says the combination of boxing and Bellator MMA events will make the streaming service a got o for combat sports fans.
“It’s simple; fans want to see great fighters in competitive fights, so we’ve handed the keys to Scott Coker and his venerable team to go out and recruit even more top-level talent to further stack Bellator fight cards and build on their success,” Rushton stated. “With the combination of this investment and our recent announcement to ring more than 30 nights of boxing to the platform annually, DAZN will be a must-have for fight fans in the U.S.”
However, much live such streaming services as the WWE Network and UFC Fight Pass, DAZN subscribers will have to pay to check out Bellator MMA events that air on the platform. Everything will kick off on Saturday, September 29 with a Bellator card headlined by middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi defending against Rory MacDonald and Wanderlei Silva faces Rampage Jackson for a fourth time.
