Bellator 253 Video Highlights: A.J. McKee Quickly Taps Darrion Caldwell

A.J. McKee is the real deal.

McKee improved his record to 17-0 and secured himself a spot in the Bellator Featherweight Grand Prix finals with a first-round submission of Darrion Caldwell on Thursday. The second-generation start looked ultra-smooth on his back, locking up an unusual neck-crank. A.J. McKee def. Darrion Caldwell by submission via neck-crank (1:11, R1)

McKee made quick work of Caldwell off his back. The former Bellator bantamweight champion got McKee to the ground early in their main event clash, and it was a huge mistake. McKee got a deep wrap on Caldwell’s neck and body, applying an atypical neck crank for the first-round submission win.

Jason Jackson def. Ben Henderson by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Jackson is ready for the big time. Jackson out-struck and out-muscled an undersized Henderson for three consecutive rounds.

Joey Davis def. Bobby Lee by unanimous decision (30-26, 30-27, 30-27)

Davis dominated Lee in all facets of the game. His performance was decisive enough to earn him not just a unanimous decision win, but even a 10-8 round on one judge’s scorecard.

Raufeon Stots def. Keith Lee by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Lee made a good account of himself, but Stots proved to be levels ahead in an impressive three-round showcase.
